Frequently Asked Questions
Clear information about our research materials, independent testing, ordering, shipping, and customer policies.
Research use & eligibility
What does “Research Use Only” mean?
Our materials are offered solely for lawful in vitro laboratory research and analytical testing. They are not for administration to, or consumption by, humans or animals and are not offered for diagnostic, therapeutic, food, dietary supplement, or cosmetic use. Purchasing requires an approved researcher account.
Who may purchase from Lumacrest Labs?
Purchasers must be at least 21 years old and use a registered researcher account that has been manually approved before purchasing is enabled. Materials must be acquired solely for lawful laboratory research. We require researcher qualification information and may request additional documentation about the organization, research setting, and intended use. Providing information does not guarantee approval.
Can these products be used personally or administered to humans or animals?
No. Lumacrest products are not offered for personal use, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, or administration to humans or animals. Checkout requires acknowledgement of these restrictions.
Do you provide dosing, reconstitution, or administration instructions?
No. We do not provide dosing, treatment, reconstitution-for-use, or administration guidance. Questions involving personal or clinical use are outside the scope of our products and customer support.
Are your products FDA-approved?
No. Products sold by Lumacrest Labs are research materials and are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for diagnosing, treating, curing, or preventing any disease.
Product quality & testing
How are products tested?
Available batch documentation may report identity, purity, net content, endotoxin testing, and microbial screening. Testing is performed by an independent laboratory using the methods and acceptance criteria stated on the applicable Certificate of Analysis.
What do the testing results mean?
Identity testing evaluates whether the submitted sample matches the named compound. Purity measures the proportion detected by the stated analytical method. Net content measures the quantity in the submitted sample. Endotoxin and microbial screens report results against the limits or observations printed on that COA. These results characterize the tested sample; they do not establish medical suitability or approval.
Do you guarantee a specific purity for every product?
Please rely on the batch-specific result shown on the applicable COA rather than a general purity claim. Results and testing scope can vary by product and batch.
Are your products “pharmaceutical grade”?
We do not represent our research materials as pharmaceutical products or as approved for clinical use. Product specifications and laboratory findings are provided in the applicable batch documentation.
What form are the products supplied in?
The form and labeled quantity are identified on each product page and the corresponding batch documentation. Many products are supplied as lyophilized research material in a sealed vial.
Certificates of Analysis
What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
A COA is batch-specific laboratory documentation showing the submitted sample, reported methods, reference criteria, and test results. It is a quality-control record—not evidence that a product is approved or suitable for human or veterinary use.
Where can I find a product’s COA?
Visit our COA library and match the product and batch information to the vial label. When available, the laboratory’s report number or verification feature can also be used to confirm the document.
Why is the batch number important?
Testing results apply to the batch identified on the report. Matching the batch number on the vial with the COA helps confirm that you are reviewing the correct documentation.
Orders, payments & savings
Which payment methods do you accept?
Available payment methods are displayed securely during checkout and may change as payment accounts and transaction reviews are updated. An order is not confirmed until payment has been accepted.
Are orders reviewed?
Yes. Orders may be reviewed for payment risk, purchaser eligibility, policy compliance, address accuracy, or other concerns. We may request additional verification or cancel and refund an order that cannot be approved.
Do you offer volume savings?
Eligible quantity-based savings are shown on the relevant product or cart page. Any percentage displayed as “off” applies according to the quantity and promotional terms shown at the time of purchase.
Can I change or cancel an order?
Contact us as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to modify or cancel an order before shipment, but changes cannot be guaranteed after processing begins. Additional rights relating to delayed or unshipped orders are described in our policies.
Shipping, tracking & returns
Where do you ship?
We currently ship only within the United States. International shipping is not available.
How quickly are orders processed?
Confirmed and paid orders are generally prepared for the carrier within 1–2 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. Processing time is separate from carrier transit time and may be longer during high-volume periods or unforeseen circumstances.
How much does shipping cost?
Standard U.S. shipping is $9.99 per order. Free standard shipping is available when the merchandise subtotal is $200 or more after discounts, excluding tax and shipping.
Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. Tracking is emailed after the order is handed to the carrier. Please monitor the tracking record and confirm that the shipping address is complete before placing an order.
What if a shipment is delayed, lost, or damaged?
Carrier delivery estimates are not guaranteed. If tracking shows a package was lost or damaged before delivery, contact us promptly with the order number and supporting information so we can investigate. Please review our Shipping Policy for complete terms.
What is your return and refund policy?
All sales of research materials are final, and we do not accept change-of-mind returns. Exceptions include incorrect shipments, transit damage, verified quality issues, merchant-canceled unfulfilled orders, qualifying shipping delays, and rights required by applicable law. See our Returns & Refund Policy.
